Being heart broken is a pain. No one can explain how it feels like until they experience it. I was once heartbroken and it took me 8months to get over it. It is not an easy process when you are being heartbroken but if you have the best medicine, you will get over it easily.
I have some prescriptions that will help you recover your happiness and get over depression. Firstly, accept the fact that your ex has gone and can never come back. If you are still hoping that your ex partner will come back to you then you will always be depressed. You simply need to accept it as a fate. I know it not easy to get over someone you share your love, romance and feelings with but you just have to do it by getting yourself occupied with something. Hangout with your family and friends, go our for dinner and lunch. You will spend less time being alone and more being around happy people.
Secondly, do not put the blame on yourself. You need to fight the thought on your mind that is telling you that you are the cause of the break up. A relationship is meant for two compatible people, you and your ex were not compatible that is why you got heartbroken.
Furthermore, forgive your ex. You need to learn to forgive people, your ex was not at fault neither you were at fault. Like i said earlier, you people were not compatible. When you have hatred for your ex, your are adding more stress and building tension for yourself.

Go out and enjoy with friends, you can even go on a date with any of your female friends. You need to discover that life is very beautiful and there are a lot of things for you to enjoy.
Lastly, you need to know that love is a beautiful thing. Leave you past behind and focus on your future. Do not use your ex to generalize that everybody are the and you are the only one different. There are people that will show you love when you get outside, you just need to discover yourself and feel happy. After everything, there will always be one person that will show you love, appreciate you and care for you.

Make you sure you are not entering a new relationship on a rebound, it will only give unpleasant emotions and feelings.
